Picture Day!
March 31, 2011

Today Miss Stephanie was closed, so Bailey got to spend the day with me. Since CDK needs to have our group pictures redone, we’ve been looking for the right photographer. Designer Katie wanted to try her hand at it and since I had Bailey, we thought she would make the perfect test model!

So I loaded up the car with Quackster and various other props and headed into St. Charles. Once we got there, Katie got to work chasing Bailey around the room as she toted the big ol’ caterpillar and Quackster along her. Since she took over 200 shots, I’m sure there’s some great ones to be seen soon!

When we got home, a tired Bailey hadn’t had enough picture taking and so she borrowed my iPhone and photographed her feet! So, until Katie turns them loose, we’ll have to settle for Bailey photography instead of photos of Bailey! 😉

Daddy Day!
March 30, 2011

Sweet Tea Courtesy of Daddy!

Sweet Tea Courtesy of Daddy!

With Johnny’s weird work schedule, he rarely gets full days with Bailey. As such, today, we took the day and spent it just the 3 of us. Johnny quickly posted on Facebook about breakfast: fried eggs & bologna and pink lemonade!

Moving on to lunch, it started with sweet tea at 10:00. But by 10:45, Bailey crashed and burned. She woke back up around 1:00 and we headed off to CDK to pick up some packages (including diapers from Amazon.com!) She had a great time playing with her giant caterpillar (which has become CDK’s office mascot!)

It was a great day that I hope to do again soon!

Technology Helps the Working Mom
March 29, 2011

Bailey on FaceTime

Bailey via FaceTime (with Blanche & me in the corner)

Today, I didn’t get everything I needed to get done DONE at CDK. As a result, I’ll be here longer than expected. With a 70 mile trip home, it’ll be late by the time I get home. Which means no Bailey time for me today. 😦

Unfortunately, this has been a recurring theme in my life, as I’m sure it is in any successful business mom’s life at one point or another. But, technology has given me a boon that makes this a LOT more bearable. Enter FaceTime! 😀

When we got it, we made comments (given how old we are) that it’s like the Back to the Future 2 big video screens on which Michael J. Fox’s character, Marty McFly, gets fired. Except for the fax through the wall thing. Not sure if that’s ever going to be necessary with the invention of email. But that’s another topic on another blog…

Instead, I can SEE and TALK to my daughter, even though she’s 70 miles away via the iPhone 4. Or actually, on my end, through CDKWeb‘s wonderful testing MacBook Air that has FaceTime capabilities. We upgraded my husband Johnny’s phone to the 4 JUST for this reason. It makes a world of difference. Bailey even tries to kiss me through the phone. THAT makes these long nights much easier to swallow. Thanks, Apple and goodnight, Bailey Bear!

Up! Up! Up All Night!

Last night for the first time in a long time, Miss Bailey just couldn’t sleep. I’m not sure if the cat woke her up or just her general not feeling good did it, but we were up for almost 3 hours while she clamored around the house just as if was noon. She finally crashed back out at around 4:30. Made for a long night. Made for a long day. And thus, heading to be tonight early to try and play sleep deprivation catch-up! Night, World!

Toddler becomes a Monkey
March 27, 2011

Apparently when a toddler hits almost 14 months old, age-old evolutionary instincts kick in and they decide they can climb. Like a monkey climbs a tree. Up the stairs. Down the stairs. On top of the stepstool. On top of the toy car. On top of the OTHER toy car. On top of the stepstool (that I’m now a big girl and cart all over the house!) and have now brought over next to the recliner to climb up on the recliner! And the list continues.

This brings me to the question of why. Why do they want to climb? To see the world from that extra 12′ higher in the air? To see if they can? To become just a little more independent? Or, maybe, and this is the one I’m leaning towards, to give their parents a heart attack. Yep, I’m thinking that’s it!

Welcome to The Bailey Daily!
March 26, 2011

This is our first post in the blog that discusses the trials & triumphs of the toddlerhood of Miss Bailey Cassle Camp!

As an owner of website design and software development firm, the idea of trying to create a physical baby book given my plethora of digital images is a daunting one. So, inspiration struck to keep a running tally of Bailey’s daily life, activities, milestones and the like to remember. Plus, it keeps all those who love her and cannot see her on a daily basis up-to-date with her happenings and how her changes! Welcome & I hope you enjoy!
